Copy a plan from RigBridge 2

Q: Is it possible to copy one or several entire plans from RigBridge 2 to RigBridge 3?

A: It is possible. Follow these steps:

  1. In RigBridge 2 select the plan(s) you want to copy and type [Ctrl + C].

  2. A banner shows confirming the selection is copied to the clipboard.

  3. In RigBridge 3 navigate to the required section you want to add a plan.

  4. Click on the Icon - paste Paste icon to paste the plan(s) (next to the Add plan).

After following these steps, your plans will now show in RigBridge 3.

Q: What happens when I copy a plan between projects in RigBridge?

A: When you copy a plan from one project to another, all associated properties—at the plan, section, and project levels—will be included in the new copy. These properties will also appear in the Property Overview of the new project.

However, there is no validation process to check if the properties still apply to the new project. That means:

  • Properties may appear correct even if they’re not relevant to the new plan.

  • If the plan was created for a different rig, for example, those rig-specific properties will still be included.

  • You should always review and un-link or re-link properties after copying to make sure they align with the new context.

Q: Are Insights and review comments copied?

A: Not automatically. Insights and review comments only transfer automatically if they are pinned.

If you copy a plan manually, these elements will not be included. Contact support if you need these elements transferred.

Q: Are attachments copied?

A: Yes, attachments are typically linked automatically when copying a plan directly from RigBridge 2 to RigBridge 3. However:

  • For structured migrations, attachments are copied as part of a broader onboarding process that includes roles and users.

  • If attachments are added in RigBridge 2 after the migration date, they won’t be available in RigBridge 3.

Q: What happens with legacy plans?

A: Only ongoing and upcoming plans are included in current migrations.

Notice

A separate development project is planned to move executed/legacy plans in the near future.

Q: Why can’t I see the paste icon when trying to insert a plan?

A: Make sure you're trying to paste the plan at the same level in the plan structure as it existed in RigBridge 2. If you're at the wrong level, the Paste Paste icon may not appear.
