Notifications & Subscriptions
Notifications & Subscriptions in RigBridge help you stay updated on important actions and changes in your work environment. They provide real-time alerts for activities like approvals, reviews, plan status updates, and team additions. This feature ensures you can respond promptly to critical updates without relying solely on emails.
How it looks
Notifications & Subscriptions appear in multiple ways within RigBridge:
Pop-up alerts: Appear in the upper-left corner when a notification is triggered.

Notification panel: Click the
Notification icon in the left-side panel to view all notifications. A number next to the icon indicates the count of unread notifications.
Notification header: Customize what you see in the notification panels header:

Show unread notifications: Toggle this on/off to display only unread messages or all notifications.
Filter notifications: Apply filters to limit displayed notifications, in the Notification panel, based on relevance.
Set notification alerts: Define which notifications should trigger pop-up alerts. How to Adjust pop-up notification alert settings.
Notification details: Each notification includes more or all of the following:

Notification type icon: Represents the category of the notification.
Headline and timestamp: Summary of and when the notification was sent.
Unread indicator: Unread notifications have a colored dot.
Brief description: Shows more details related to the notification.
User action or input (if applicable): May include further required actions you need to take.
Hover functionality: Hovering over a notification displays a
Mark as read button. Click the
Mark as read icon to set this notification to read.E-mail notifications: When enabled, all items you subscribe to—such as plans, events, or phases—will be sent to you via e-mail. Note that this feature must be activated in the Global notification settings, to receive e-mails. Adjust global subscription settings

Step-by-step instructions
Enable notifications on an item
Hover and find the notification icon: Locate the item where you want to enable notifications (e.g., plan, section, event, or phase). The
Subscribe icon will appear when you hover over the row.Enable the notifications: Click the
Subscribe icon to activate notifications. These will follow the settings from the Global subscription settings. Read more about Adjust global subscription settings.Receive updates: You will now be notified whenever changes occur for this item.
Change notification settings on an item
Locate the active notification icon: Find the
Subscription settings icon at the level you want to adjust.Open settings: Click the
Subscription settings icon to display the notification settings menu.Modify preferences: Adjust the specific types of notifications you want to receive.
Auto-save settings: Close the window - your preferences are saved automatically.
Unsubscribe notifications on an item
Locate the active notification icon: Find the
Subscription settings icon at the level you want to adjust.Open settings: Click the
Subscription settings icon to display the notification settings menu.Unsubscribe: Click the button Unsubscribe to stop receiving notifications for that item.
Mark notifications as read
Hover over the notification: Move your cursor over a notification in the pop-up or side panel and click
Mark as read to mark it as read.Clear all unread notifications: Click the
Mark all as read button to remove unread indicators from all notifications at once.Set a notification to unread: Click
Mark as unread to change a read notification back to unread.
Note
Read notifications will be automatically removed after a time period specified by your company, with a default setting of two weeks. Unread notifications follow the same rule but may have a different duration, also determined by your company, with a default setting of four weeks.
Adjust global subscription settings
Go to settings: Click the
Settings icon in the bottom-left corner in the left-side panel.Open notification settings: Select
Subscription settings from the menu.Customize preferences: Adjust if you want email notifications and types of alerts.
Auto-save settings: Changes are saved automatically when you close the window.
Warning
Changing the Global subscription settings will override all individual subscription preferences. For example, if you previously disabled e.g. Plan approved notifications for specific items, reactivating Plan approved in the global settings will enable it for all subscribed items.
Adjust pop-up notification alert settings
Open the notification panel: Click the
Notification icon on the left-side panel.Access alert settings: Click
Notification alert settings.Define pop-up alerts: Choose which notifications will appear as pop-ups.
Auto-save settings: Close the settings window, and your choices are saved automatically.
Tips & Tricks
Approval and review requests: These will always be sent as notifications and emails, regardless of your settings in Notification alert settings or Subscription settings.
Personalized settings: Notification preferences only affect your account and do not impact other users.
Examples
As a Rig Manager: You need to stay informed about all plans published for your rig. To do this, disable all other notification types except Plan Published.
As a Plan Owner: You are responsible for reviews and approvals of specific plans. To stay updated, turn on notifications for reviews and approvals related to your assigned plans.
As a Team Lead: You oversee team activities and need to track status updates. Enable team-related notifications.
As an Approver: You need to act on approval requests quickly. Turn on notifications for approvals and ensure pop-up alerts are enabled to avoid delays.
As a Reviewer: You want to track review requests but avoid clutter. Enable notifications only for reviews you are assigned to.
Troubleshooting
Notifications not appearing: Ensure your Subscription settings and Notification alert settings are properly configured.
Unread notifications not clearing: Use the
Mark all as read button to clear all notifications.Unexpected Notification Disabling: If notifications for an item are turned off unexpectedly, check the parent-level settings (e.g., Plan Overview). Higher level settings will always override lower level settings.
