Properties

The Icon - properties Properties feature in the right-side panel provides a structured way to manage and view various aspects of a project, particularly in the context of drilling operations. This feature ensures that users can efficiently manage project details, sections, and tasks with integrated data from, for example, third-party systems.

Overview of the Properties feature

The Properties feature is a critical component that offers consistent access to essential project data. Here's a detailed look at how it functions and its applications:

Project level properties

When a project is selected, the properties panel displays the project's name, client, creation date, and other relevant metadata. This panel is customizable, allowing for the inclusion of additional fields as required.

Section level properties

Projects are divided into sections and subsections corresponding to different stages of the wellbore, such as drilling, casing, and cementing operations. Each section's properties can include the well, wellbore, and rig details, ensuring users have all the necessary information at each project stage.

Plan level properties

The plan properties include essential metadata and attributes that help manage and execute the plan effectively. Each plan's properties can include information about the plan's name, if it's a contingency plan and what rig it's related to. This panel is also customizable, allowing for the inclusion of additional fields as required.

Key functionalities

Integration with Third-Party Systems

Projects and their sections are often imported from systems like, e.g. SLB's DrillPlan. This integration ensures that all necessary data is available and up-to-date, facilitating better project management.

Users can not edit or delete data imported from third-party systems within the Project Planner, maintaining data integrity.

Customizable Metadata

The properties for projects, sections and plans can be customized to include specific metadata fields relevant to the user's needs.

This flexibility ensures the properties can be tailored to different project requirements and user preferences.

Contingency plans

A Contingency Plan serves as a pre-approved alternative for operational tasks in case of deviations from the primary plan. In RigBridge, users have the option to designate a plan as a Contingency Plan.

Note

You need to add a contingency plan to an execution order. Within the Execution Order , a section is dedicated exclusively to Contingency plans. You can read more about how to use it on Execution Order.
